About Us

This privacy policy applies to newhideaway.com, the Hideaway social launcher, and any and all games available through Hideaway, including but not limited to Party Parrot World, Plop Shot, and Tortuga Quest. Hideaway and the included games are open to users of all ages.

We take privacy very seriously at Digital Daylight and this policy is designed to tell you what information we collect and how we use it.

Changes to this privacy policy

Please visit and review this policy from time to time as we may make changes. If we make a material change, we will post notice on Digital Daylight prior to making the change. If we have your contact information we will also contact you via email prior to making the change.

Information we collect and how we use it

At Digital Daylight, we invite users of all ages to create an account and participate in our community through the Hideaway launcher and available games. To register for the service, we ask that you provide your first name, date of birth, email, and a display name that will be seen by other users. When applicable we collect your parent email to seek their consent for you to have an account and use our service.

Registered users will have access to the following features that may also collect personal information:

• Moderated private and public chats

• Community sharing

• A moderated public profile

We don’t collect personal information from users visiting our website. However, our website does feature links out to resource materials about kākāpō parrots. We encourage you to review the information and collection practices of these external websites.

Information we collect from children and how we use it

In addition to the registration information listed above, children must provide a parent email address. We will use that email to notify the parent of the child’s request to participate and to obtain consent. We will not use this email address for any other purpose.

Kids Privacy Assured by PRIVO: COPPA Safe Harbor Certification & GDPRkids

Digital Daylight Enterprises is a member of the PRIVO Kids Privacy Assured Program (“the Program”) forSafe Harbor Certification and GDPRkids™.  PRIVO is an independent, third-party organization committed to supporting online services to safeguard children’s personal information collected online.

COPPA Safe Harbor Certification

The Program certification applies to the digital properties listed on the validation page that is viewable by clicking on the PRIVO COPPA certification Seal. The certification Seal posted on this page indicates Digital Daylight Enterprises has established COPPA compliant privacy practices and has agreed to submit to PRIVO’s oversight and consumer dispute resolution process. GDPRkids™ Privacy Assured

The Program applies to the digital properties listed on the validation page that is viewable by clicking on the PRIVO GDPRkids™ Verified Shield. The PRIVO GDPRkids™ Privacy Assured Program supports child directed services known as Information Society Services under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), to comply with the requirements of this legislation. It impacts any child directed service in an EU Member State and any service globally that collects and or processes the personal data of children and minors. There is no safe harbor for the GDPR to date, but to ensure this company's services meet the program requirements, we conduct regular monitoring and consulting.

If your child wishes to create an account on Digital Daylight we will collect a parent email to obtain consent through our privacy partner PRIVO.

Other information we collect

Certain information is collected automatically from all users when they use the Hideaway service, including an anonymized IP address, anonymized device hash including device name, model, OS and CPU, anonymized data usage and a Player ID.

Service Providers

Digital Daylight works with the following service providers to help us improve our services, obtain parent consent and provide the best experience.

We partner with PRIVO, a leading privacy solutions expert as well as an FTC approved COPPA Safe Harbor, to obtain verifiable parental consent. All information collected to obtain verifiable parental consent is stored securely and not used for any other purpose. The Hideaway social launcher is built with Unity. We also use Unity Analytics to collect usage statistics to help us approve our apps and services. Unity is restricted from sharing any personal data with other third party services.

We also use Google Firebase for analytics and crash reporting. Firebase collects an IP Address and is restricted from sharing or using a child’s information for remarketing purposes.

Airtable is used to manage analytics and player information. Airtable does not share your information with any other third party services.

Chat and public posts are moderated by Community Sift and Google Perspective.

If you contact us via our customer service platform FreeScout, we will use the contact information provided to respond once to your inquiry and then delete your email and any personal information shared in the initial request.

Users at or above the age of consent are invited to opt in to receive marketing and promotional materials. These newsletters are delivered by SendGrid. SendGrid and Digital Daylight will not use your email address for any other purpose.

We also use remarketing Google, Facebook and Twitter remarketing pixels in relation to users 18 or older who have consented to the use of these pixels. These help us learn more about how our users found our services and to help us acquire new users.

We do not use any service providers on our website.

Data Transfer

If you are in Europe or the United Kingdom, your data may be transferred to a country that does not afford the same level of protection as those provided under European laws. In those cases, we will ensure appropriate safeguards to protect your personal information in connection with the transfer are in place. Disclosure

We may disclose your personal information if required by law or in the event of a company sale or proposed change of ownership. We may also disclose it to protect Digital Daylight rights and properties or to investigate fraud or intellectual property infringement.

Digital Daylight stores your data for as long as necessary to provide the services, or as stated by the

purposes outlined in this document.

EU/UK Citizens Data Protection Rights

When applicable Digital Daylight complies with the rights given to EU Citizens under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These rights are as follows:

• to correct the personal data we have about you;

• to withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data;

• to obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you;

• to have your personal data deleted;

• to transfer your personal data to another controller to provide you with services;

• to restrict the personal data we have;

Security

Digital Daylight uses generally accepted security measures and safeguards to keep the data it collects secure and requires that the service providers it works with agree to do the same. The measures and safeguards include limiting access to the data to those persons who need it to complete their work for Digital Daylight and using a fire-wall protected environment and storing personal information in secure operating environments. That said, no methods are foolproof.

Your use of our services maybe subject to the terms and conditions and privacy policies of other services that we don’t control such as mobile app stores, mobile software platforms or payment processors.
